Over the last seven years, Terribly Tiny Tales (TTT) has transformed from a side hustle into a full-fledged community, enabling short-format fiction writing for over 5 million users. This vibrant community generates content for brands, OTT platforms, advertisers, and more. Founders Anuj and Anshuman have led TTT to organic growth and profitability, continually exploring new revenue streams like TTT Academy to reach even greater heights.

When Anuj discovered Done Deal, he registered with the intent of exploring potential strategic connections. Despite not actively seeking capital, TTT was open to strategic options that could facilitate further scaling.

Done Deal Edge

TTT's anonymous profile on Done Deal was made accessible to over 500 strategic investors across various categories. The profile read:

“We're India's largest storytelling community serving 5 million+ users. We tell stories with and for 300+ brands including Hershey's, Meesho, Amazon, HSBC, and Unilever. Our learning vertical has trained 9000+ creators.”

This visibility led to multiple expressions of interest from strategic buyers, including advertising networks, listed media companies, and large consumer brands eager to acquire TTT for its active community. The founders were able to prioritize conversations based on strategic alignment and could discreetly drop those that didn't fit, maintaining anonymity throughout the process.

The Journey to Acquisition

These curated conversations resulted in TTT receiving as many as four term sheets, giving the founders a significant advantage in negotiations. Among the interested parties, Collective Artists, one of India's largest creator companies, stood out. Diversifying from artist management into various other streams, Collective Artists has been actively seeking strategic acquisitions on Done Deal.

TTT offered the perfect platform for Collective Artists, providing access to an engaged audience of 5 million users. This acquisition would enable Collective to extend their distribution capabilities to the various brands they service. For TTT, Collective Artists' vision of pioneering all things culture resonated deeply, quickly advancing the conversation from introduction to term sheet within just four meetings.

“This partnership will enable TTT to leverage Collective's extensive resources and expertise, allowing us to amplify our reach and impact in the storytelling domain,” said Anuj Gosalia, founder and CEO of Terribly Tiny Tales.
